County Square Shopping Centre, Ashford – BHS to Poundland
Strip out and refurbishment project – Following the downfall of the BHS group, Crestel were employed to strip back the former BHS department store at the County Square Shopping Centre, Ashford to accommodate the new tenants (Poundland) to the ground floor retail space. The project comprised of stripping back the BHS shop fit including the stores in house café restaurant and kitchens, store and back of house areas, ventilation and air conditioning system and all power requirements including the backup generators. Renewal of all the roof areas, removal and structural infill of the escalator pits and opening within the first floors and the construction of new welfare faculties and offices for the tenant. The project also required the liaising with UKPN to prepare and install a new BNO electrical system in order to future proof the upper parts of property for a potential future tenant on the first and second floors.
The project also included the assistance of Crestel to relocate Poundland from their existing store within the centre to the new store upon completion prior to the grand opening.
